How to Use the Solenoid Electromagnet Correctly

  In order to make sure the solenoid  electromagnet( including the assorted rotary electromagnetpush-pull electromagnetdirect-acting electromagnettube-type electromagnet, etc) can work normally and achieve the due life span,

We should notice the following points when we are choosing various solenoid electromagnets:

1、Solenoid electromagnet always work with direct current,and when the power is alternating current, please use full-wave rectification type to change the alternating current into direct current.

2、Energizing rate (or energizing duration rate) is expressed by the ratio between coil energizing time and cut off time:

      Rate(%)= connection time/(connection time+break time) ×100

Except for the energizing rate, sometimes the longest energizing time for each time is setted.This aids to avoid the excessive increase of coil temperature ,beacause it can lead to errors in the opeartion of solenoid electromagnet or shorter its life span. So please make sure you use it below the setted value.

3、The value of current in the coil multiply the number of coil is ampere-turn.The coil data of various solenoid electromagnet is corresponded with each cycle of energizing rate, and parameter values are provided. The mechanical output power of solenoid electromagnet has the direct proportion with its ampere-turn.

4、With the coil temperature increases, the bulk property of solenoid electromagnet will be changed. When the coil have power, then the coil temperature will increase,the coil resistance will increase and the current in the coil will decrease. Therefore, the ampere-turn will decrease and the mechanical delivered power of solenoid electromagnet will decrease.The samples of common products, the coil data and characteristic datas are listed on the catalogue, and they are all based on the ambient temperature 20℃. The relations among the coil resistance, coil resistance and ampere-turn are suggested in the diagram 1.

   Coil exotherm is detected by the test standard of appliance exotherm, and compute with the following formular.

5、Solenoid electromagnet is a kind of inductive load with high inductance. When the power is cut off, the control connecting point will produce dangerous voltaic arc, so the operator should take suitable safeguard for connecting point. There are two methods: diode sorting by insertion and capacitor sorting by insertion. When use the capacitor sorting by insertion, the matching resistance value and capacitor value should be provided with the constant when the specific circuit is clear.

6、In order to control the increase of coil temperature effectively and make the solenoid electromagnet can be used when the ampere-turn is relatively big, you should make solenoid electromagnet besides the cooling plates, and the size of cooling plates can consult the size suggested by the coil data. If the cooling plates are smaller than the ones suggested, they should be used under the regulated power by the coil datasheet.

8、In the environment with humid tropical temperature,  when the solenoid electromagnet is used with crust earth, different connecting methods will lead to the voltage difference between the coil and crust, thus the coil will be broken because of electrolytic corrosion. So the opeartor should avoid the minus earth and avoid using minus side switch.
